Project Description

hunterswood extension

Hunterswood, South Dublin Extension

This extension posed a challenge for us with a very tight deadline of 30 days to complete. Our brief was to extend to the rear of the home while retaining natural light and without compromising the windows on the first floor. Two velux kerbs were installed which achieved this and by aligning one to an retained window frame, light flows into the old sitting room also. A total Warm Roof was installed which boats no cold bridging. French doors lead out to the new granite patio area and above this we included a cedar T&G finish with recessed lighting to finish it off. This project was ‘architect free’ and in the end, we finished it all in 18 days, well short of the deadline of 30.

In September 2015 we employed ION to construct a 40 sq m extension to the back of our home. This was all to be completed under a tight deadline of 28 days and a set budget. The is a terraced house and all construction material and tools had to come through the house on a daily basis. Each day the team ensured the house was put back to a livable standard which was necessary as we have two young children and could not vacate the property for the duration of the build. Niall and Frank completed the extension within the set budget and timescale to a high standard, exceeding our expectations.
